HibiKa Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of the iPhone app "HibiKa" (the "App"; the developer is referred to as "we" or "us") handles information in connection with the App.
1. Our approach
HibiKa is a budget app that you can use without creating an account. We do not operate a server for the App, and we do not collect the financial records you enter. We do not use those records for advertising, and we do not give them to advertising companies.
The free version of the App shows ads through Google's advertising service (section 8). The App does not include any analytics tools.
2. Information you enter in the App
The records you enter (amount, date, income or expense, category, subcategory, payment method, merchant, memo), your recurring items, and your settings are stored on your device. This information is not sent to us.
If you delete the App, the information stored on your device is deleted as well.
3. iCloud sync
If you turn on iCloud Sync in HibiKa Pro, part of the information in section 2 (records, categories, payment methods, recurring items and related data) is stored in the private iCloud storage linked to your Apple Account and synced with your other devices that use the same Apple Account.
We cannot view or obtain the information in that storage. Apple's privacy policy applies to how information is handled in iCloud. You can turn sync off at any time in the App's settings.
4. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
The amounts shown in the widget are read from storage on your device that the App and the widget share. They are not sent anywhere.
5. Notifications
Reminders before recurring payments are local notifications scheduled on your device. No information is sent off your device to deliver them. You can change the notification permission at any time in the Settings app on your iPhone.
6. CSV export
When you export a CSV file, a file containing your records is created and passed to the destination you choose (saving to Files, AirDrop, email and so on). How the information is handled at that destination is governed by its provider.
7. In-app purchase
Purchasing and restoring HibiKa Pro is handled by Apple's App Store. We do not receive your name, credit card number or other payment information. Whether you have purchased HibiKa Pro is checked on your device using the tools Apple provides.
8. Advertising
The free version of the App shows ads using Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google LLC. Ads are not shown if you have purchased HibiKa Pro.
To show ads, Google's software included in the App sends the following information to Google:
- The advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you have allowed tracking
- Device and app information (model, OS version, app version, language and similar)
- IP address and the approximate location inferred from it
- How ads are displayed and tapped
Google uses this information to deliver ads, measure their effectiveness, prevent fraud and for similar purposes. If you have allowed tracking, it is also combined with information from other companies' apps and websites to show ads that match your interests. For how Google handles information, see Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
The financial records described in section 2 are not sent for advertising.
You can change the tracking permission at any time in the Settings app on your iPhone, under Privacy & Security > Tracking. Every feature of the App works the same way if you do not allow tracking.
9. No sale of personal information; your choices about ad personalization
We do not sell personal information, and we do not receive the information that Google's software collects.
If you allow tracking, the information listed in section 8 may be used by Google for advertising based on your activity across other companies' apps and websites. Some laws, including privacy laws in California and other U.S. states, treat this as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time by turning off tracking for HibiKa in the Settings app (Privacy & Security > Tracking), or by purchasing HibiKa Pro, which removes ads entirely. We do not treat you differently for making these choices.
10. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Where the App is offered
The App is developed in Japan. It is not offered in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
12. Contacting us
You can send us feedback and bug reports from Feedback & Contact in the App's settings. Messages are sent through a Google Form. To help us investigate problems, the App's version, the iOS version and the device model are sent together with what you write. You can see what will be sent on the screen before sending.
We use the information we receive through the form (the type and content of your message, and the app information filled in automatically) only for the following purposes. Please note that we do not reply individually.
- Investigating and fixing problems
- Improving the App
Because the form is provided through Google's services, Google's Privacy Policy also applies.
13. Disclosure to third parties
We do not provide the information we receive through the contact form to third parties without your consent, except where required by law.
14. Security
We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the information we receive through the contact form from being leaked, lost or damaged, and we delete it appropriately when it is no longer needed.
15. Access, correction and deletion
If you would like us to disclose, correct, stop using or delete information we received from you through the contact form, please contact us through the form. We will respond in accordance with applicable law after confirming your identity.
We do not hold the information described in sections 2 to 6. Please review or delete it in the App or in the Settings app on your iPhone. We also do not receive the information sent to Google described in section 8; please follow Google's policies for that information.
16. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy when laws change or when features are added to the App. If there is an important change, we will let you know in the App or on this page. The changed policy applies from the time it is posted on this page.
